Flashlight

Kaylee has a Dora book where they use a flashlight to help them see in the dark. Jamie just read it to her and then went to get a real flashlight to show her how it works. He turned out the overhead light in the family room and they found dark spots (under the entertainment center, for one) to look at and Kaylee enjoyed shining it all over the ceiling, TV, etc. They just went into the basement with the stair light turned out to go down there in the dark with just the flashlight for light. It's very cute to hear the excitement in her voice about using a flashlight!

Elena's really into flashlights as well. I bought a cheap blue flashlight and a princess flashlight at Wal-Mart, and Elena prefers the blue one. Our new bedtime ritual is that after brushing her teeth, we go into her room and use our flashlights to read stories until it's time for her to get into her crib.
