Happy Halloween!

We didn't take Kaylee out trick-or-treating (she's a bit young for the candy and we don't want it, and we didn't want people to think we were just ringing their doors to show off our cute baby...), but we did dress her up and she "helped" hand out candy, and we talked to some of the neighbors for a little while.

Can you tell Kaylee was worn out by the end of the evening? :-D She had a quick bath and went right to sleep!

Kaylee's Dedication

Kaylee's Dedication at church (Browns Bridge Community Church) was yesterday. The servcie was very nice, and there were 21 babies dedicated that day. Kaylee was very good through the service (yay!) - we were a bit worried, as it was right when she usually naps, but she took an early nap and did very well. She took a nap once we got home and was a bit off for the rest of the evening, but seemed fine again today. Luckily her dress fit perfectly (I bought it 2-3 months ago, and of course you never know how they'll grow!). She even has a matching faux fur coat to go with her dress, but it ended up being too warm for it (guess she gets to wear the outfit again, since we didn't think to get at least a photo of her in the coat!).

What else...a few photos! I hope it's okay that she was making her "evil baby" face at church!! :-D

Early Halloween

Unbeknownst to each other, my cousin and his wife bought their son a Winnie the Pooh costume and we bought Kaylee a Tigger one. We found this out a couple days before we were going to visit them, so I took Kaylee's costume with us so we could get some photos of our costumed babies together. I think they turned out pretty cute! Kaylee is 7 months and Nate is 3 months. The outfits make both of them look puffier than they are, but especially Nate, who is still so small compared to Kaylee!! :-) We're all going on vacation in a couple weeks, so it will be fun to see how Kaylee reacts to having a younger baby around for a while - she's used to being the little one!

New Don't?

Kaylee was trying out a new do (...or was it a new don't?) in the tub tonight. You'll notice she made her "evil baby" face while trying to eat duckie. Then her, "who, me? Nothing!" face when we asked what she was up to.

PS - be sure to ask Jamie about Squirty the Tubfish...

Our Punkin

Happy Fall, everyone!

Sippy Cup

Kaylee's been drinking water from a sippy cup for a few weeks now, and recently has figured out how to hold on to the cup and drink on her own. She can't always hold it up enough to get the water, but does pretty well for just starting out.

Not holding my breath...

In the past week or two, Kaylee started scrunching up her nose and eyes and making a funny face that we call her "evil baby" look. She does it all the time, but especially in between most bites when we're feeding her.

In the past few days, she's started getting up on her hands and knees on her own, and just yesterday started rocking back and forth...could crawling be just around the corner?? Of course when we thought, "she'll be rolling over any day now!" it turned out to be about 3 months later. But it could happen! :-) For now, she gets a bit frustrated when she gets up that way and can't seem to go anywhere!!

Unwrapped

Kaylee's Grandma unwrapped a birthday gift yesterday and threw the wrapping paper on the floor for our cats to play with. They sat on it for a bit, but I think Kaylee had more fun with it than they did!

Bear booty?

This photo is from this morning...I thought it was a cute expression. (Of course, which of her expressions do I not think are cute??) It's her Mona Lisa face...not quite a smile, but not *not* a smile...

Wow - those are some huge blue eyes!!
Kaylee attended her first Greek Festival this past Saturday. My parents live just down the street from the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta, so we've gone every year since it's a short walk from their house. Since Kaylee likes to people watch, we thought she would enjoy it. I think she did, though it was pretty hot out - earlier in the week it looked like it would be about 70, but it was more like sunny and 80. At least it wasn't too humid. We sat outside and watched the dancers some, but went inside through some of the shops when we were getting too hot.

Not too much else going on that I can think of. Kaylee's rolling around like crazy these days; that's how she gets across the room to get to different toys, though she hasn't quite figured out how to get something that's right in front of her but just out of reach...she scoots backwards in her attempts to stretch forwards, then gets frustrated that she's further away than she was!

Here are a couple pictures of Kaylee and her bear booty PJs.

Colorful eating

Kaylee started eating veggies this past weekend. So far she's had carrots and green beans and seems to enjoy both. I *think* she gets more in her than on her, though it could be a toss up...tonight Jamie got to scrub beans out of her eyebrow...fun, fun, fun.

As you can see from the first photo, she gets a bit feisty when you stop feeding her to take a picture!!
