Smiley Gal

Within the past week, Kaylee has figured out how to smile for reasons other than just gas! It's nice to have a little "feedback" from her. I finally captured some of her huge smiles on camera this morning; up until now, I wasn't able to catch them before it was just a little grin. How adorable is she??

We went to our weekly Mom & Me group again last Friday, then out to lunch with a bunch of the other moms and babies/toddlers. It's nice to know we have something to do that will get us out of the house once a week!

Say cheese!

Crazy huge smile! (...a bit overexposed, ugh.)

She seems a little perplexed by her lamb...and ready to throw a punch if it messes with her.

Until next time...

Kaylee's big day out

Posting with a sleeping baby girl in my arms! Kaylee and I had a busy day Friday - we left the house around 10 am and got home after 5 pm!!! We went to our first Mom & Me class (held every Friday at one of the Northside Forsyth buildings off 400 at Old Milton Parkway). The kids at the class ranged in age from 11 days to 13 months, with a few right around Kaylee's age. Afterwards we picked up lunch and went to Wills Park with a bunch of the moms and babies from the class. It was nice to talk with other mothers about stuff and get questions answered, plus just the socializing with adults aspect was nice. :) Kaylee was a bit young to enjoy the playground equipment, but she seemed to enjoy the nap she had while we were there. On our way home, we stopped by Grandma Barb's office for a surprise visit - she was happy to show off her granddaughter to her coworkers!

Kaylee was awesome all day - didn't fuss except a couple times when she was getting hungry and needed a diaper change - praise God for blessing us with a content baby! (Not that she's never fussy, but I really can't complain!) After we got home we were both wiped out. I fed her shortly after our arrival, then we both took a nap for about an hour and a half, which was awesome.

Kaylee's great aunt Sharon came from SC this weekend for a visit and stayed Friday night through about noon today. She was able to come over for just a few hours when Kaylee was 4 days old, but hadn't had time until now to return - and won't be able to for at least a few weeks, so was super happy to be able to visit this weekend. Kaylee seemed excited to see her as well, though all the smiles could have just been gas...

I need to try to get a few things done before her next mealtime rolls around, so I should sign off for now. Sorry no new pictures - we have a few from last night, but they're still on my camera, which is downstairs at the moment. Soon, I promise! :)

3 weeks yesterday!

I find it hard to believe that Kaylee is already 3 weeks old. Seems like we were just in the hospital! She's doing well, and we're getting into more of a routine now. Not necessarily on a time-schedule, but she's getting easier to feed, which is awesome!! and I think (knock on wood) that we're getting more/better sleep.

She's had two outings thus far, other than doc's appointments - went to a friend's house for dinner last Saturday, and to her great-grandparents' for lunch yesterday. She slept the whole time yesterday, so didn't even make it out of the carseat!! Maybe next time she'll be more adventurous.

Not too much to report here, just posting a couple pictures of the cutie! (these are when she was 2 weeks, but she's still about the same now :) )

Welcome, Kaylee!!

Hello! I decided to start a blog for Kaylee to keep people updated, rather than continuously sending out tons of photos and email updates that might be interesting to some, but likely not all. :) This way you can check here when you have time and catch up on what's happening in Kaylee's world! Hopefully I can manage to keep it updated.

Kaylee was 7 lb 14 oz at birth, and 7 lb 6 oz when we left the hospital. At her 1 week pediatrician's appointment, she was back up a little to 7 lb 8 oz. Her docs wanted to see her at least up to her birthweight by 2 weeks, and she didn't disappoint! She measured 8 lbs and 21.25" as of this morning's appointment.

We now have 3 Aries in the house! Kaylee's birthday is 3-25, Jamie's is 3-31, mine is 4-15! For a joint b-day gift, my parents gave us a photo printer, which is awesome! It's so much better quality than the color inkjets we've had before. Not sure we'll save much money over having photos printed, what with the cost of ink and paper, but we'll have the photos of our little one that much quicker!!

It's amazing to see her grow and change - she's already so different now than her first few days! And she has a funny little personality developing, as well. Hard to believe she's been here 2 weeks already; the time has gone by so quickly...pretty soon she'll be heading off to college...

Here are some more photos!!!

Love,
Julie, Jamie & Kaylee
