Kaylee's New Noise

Kaylee has a new noise - a high-pitch coo, I suppose you could call it. Sort of a mini-squeal, but it's more like part of her talking, as it's not any louder than the rest of her "words." She tends to do it more when she's alone and talking to herself, but sometimes when she's talking to us.

Not sure what else to write - I know I haven't been posting much other than photos lately...hmm. Well, here's a little song I sing to Kaylee, to the tune of Jesus Loves Me:

Mommy loves me this I know,
For she always tells me so.
"Little one," she says to me,
"I love you 'cause you're so sweet."

(sometimes the "'cause you're so sweet" gets changed to "please go to sleep" or "it's time to eat")

Little Sucker

Kaylee enjoys sucking on her fists and has lately taken to gnawing on her left thumb - not really sucking it, just gumming it and producing lots of drool...

Ear Update

Just got back from Kaylee's ENT appointment. There is still fluid behind her left eardrum, but the doctor said it looks better than last time. He recommended we just give it more time to clear out on its own rather than putting in a tube at this early stage. So we go back again in a month for him to check on the progress. Thanks for keeping her ear in your prayers!

Photo is from our ride home. We left just at her naptime and I was trying to keep her awake until we got home (it worked, and she's now napping in her room).

We're in Trouble!

Our little roly poly has been rolling over from front to back for about 3 weeks, but it looks like she'll soon be rolling back to front, as well! She just hasn't quite figured out how to get her arm out of the way yet... Guess we'll be babyproofing sooner than expected!! She actually spun herself in a complete circle on a quilt today with her head as the pivot point...was funny to watch!

101 Days of Kaylee

July 4th marked Kaylee's 101st day with us! Here are a few photos from Friday; she's wearing her special red, white and blue outfit her Poppy and Nana (Dan & Sally, Jamie's dad and stepmom) gave her. In the photos she's with me, Jamie and Uncle Jeff (my brother).

Short note & pics

Kaylee and I went to a neighbor's house for a playgroup this morning with some other moms and kids. She seemed to take everything in, looking around at all the activity and smiling some. I think she was pretty tired the whole time, but wanted to stay awake and not miss any of the excitement.

We're having a bunch of family over tomorrow for a 4th of July cookout, and Kaylee has a special red, white and blue outfit for the occasion, so I'm sure we'll be taking lots of photos and will post again soon!
